Khuhro invites Chinese to invest in Pakistan

Karachi—Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, who is on a visit to China, has said that his province is rich in natural resources and offered the Chinese entrepreneurs to come forward and utilize these resource for mutual benefit. A statement issued here on Thursday said that he was talking to the Chairman of Orient Group of Energy, Zhang Hongwei before signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding generation of wind energy in Sindh.

He further stated that this is the time of the ‘economic development’ and added that Sindh has huge potential.

Nisar Khuhro emphasized that our government is taking steps to utilize these resources for the benefit of the common man.

He said the Chinese companies should benefit from the opportunities offered by the Sindh government particularly in the field of energy.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman of the Orient Group, Zhang Hongwei said that his organization is already working in Pakistan and now after signing of an MoU they will also start work for the production of wind energy in Sindh.

He pointed out that 2011 has a special significance in Pakistan-China relationship as this year is marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries.

Zhang pointed out that President Zardari is taking keen interest in the socio-economic uplift of the people of Pakistan, adding that he called on President Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani, both in Pakistan and China.

Speaking on the occasion Ambassador Masood Khan praised Zhang for his keen interest in the energy sector of Pakistan. He said that orient Group is not only carrying out its business in Pakistan but is also contributing to the social sector for the betterment of the people.
