Kashmiris urged to beware of India’s anti-Kashmir designs

Srinagar, July 03, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the Chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik, have urged the Kashmiri people to remain cautious of the anti-Kashmir designs of RSS-backed PDP-BJP regime in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik were addressing an Iftaar party organised by the JKLF at Band in Srinagar, yesterday. They said that the Hurriyet organizations would jointly resist New Delhi’s plans of setting up colonies for retired Indian soldiers, separate townships for Kashmiri Pandits and the so-called Kashmir Industrial Policy in the territory. They also condemned the arrest spree, nocturnal raids, search operations and restrictions by India in occupied Kashmir.

The event was attended by representatives of various religious parties, civil society and trade bodies, journalists and human rights activists. The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, could not participate in the function due to continued house arrest. Other speakers on the occasion hailed the joint protest programs being announced by the Hurriyet leadership against the anti-Kashmir moves of Indian government.

Meanwhile, the APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani and General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in their separate statements in Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir was an internationally recognized dispute and India was occupying the territory through military might. They were reacting to the recent assertion of the Indian Minister, Ram Vilas Paswan, that Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of India.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement in a statement in Jammu demanded release of all illegally detained Kashmiris before Eid-ul-Fitr so that they could celebrate this auspicious occasion with their families. On the other hand, five troops of Indian Central Reserve Police Force including an officer were injured in two separate attacks in Pulwama district.
