Kashmiri lawyers’ delegation calls on Chief Justice of Pakistan

Islamabad, February 10, 2016 (PPI-OT): An eight-member delegation of lawyers from occupied Kashmir called on the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, at Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad. The delegation comprised Babar Jan Qadri, Nabila Irshad, Shafqat Nazir, Sheikh Sabzar Bashir, Kaleem Murtaza, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, Amir Sohail and Majid Irshad, according to a statement issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad.

The judges of the Supreme Court including Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan were also present in the meeting. Talking to the delegation, the Chief Justice said, dispensation of justice is a difficult task which can only be fulfilled with the assistance of the lawyers.

They discussed the functioning of legal and judicial system in Pakistan and in occupied Kashmir. The delegation also appreciated judicial system of Islamic Republic of Pakistan for dispensation of justice in the country. At the end, the Chief Justice of Pakistan thanked the delegation and presented souvenir to the delegation. The delegation also thanked Chief Justice and other judges for sparing time for them.
