Kashmir not a border dispute: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, November 22, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that Kashmir is not a border dispute between India and Pakistan but a matter of right to self-determination of Kashmiris. Muhammad Yasin Malik was reacting to the US government statement that Kashmir was a bilateral dispute. Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar terming the statement unfortunate, said that great powers became great by helping and assisting people, not by following narrow interests.

“Great powers also rise and fall but the will of the people always prevails,” he said, stressing that the US adopt a moral and value-based foreign policy trade and economic ties and interests should not be given preference over humanity and human values. Mohammad Yasin Malik said that the international community must learn a lesson from the recent growing incidents of violence all over the world and change their interest-based policies with value-based ones so that the world become a place of peace and harmony.
