Kashmir journalists thrashed in mufti’s ‘presence’

Srinagar, May 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, journalists working in Islamabad district of the territory were thrashed on Sunday by the guards of the puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Eyewitnesses told media that when the puppet Chief Minister was leaving the district hospital, scribes working with different news channels tried to pursue him for brief media interaction, which he denied. They said that the SSG personnel, accompanying the puppet Chief Minister, thrashed them and damaged camera of a video journalist, Fayaz Ahmad Lolu.

“I along with the my colleagues was trying to pursue Chief Minister for a sound-byte but all of a sudden SSG men thrashed us and even damaged my camera,” Fayaz Ahmad Lolu said, adding he will formally file a complaint with police against the SSG men. Meanwhile, the Islamabad Working Journalists Association condemned the manhandling of journalists by the guards of the puppet Chief Minister.
