Kashmir dispute root cause of disorder in region: Gilani

Srinagar, November 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Kashmir dispute is the root cause of prevailing tension, disorder and disharmony in the region. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that until India and Pakistan moved towards the resolution of the lingering international dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiris, peace, prosperity and political stability in the region would be a distant dream.

He said that the trust deficit and hostilities between India and Pakistan continued right from 1947 and since then the two countries not only maintained hate line between them but they have also fought three full scale wars during this period and another destructive war can’t be ruled out between the two neighbours in future.

The veteran Hurriyet leader appealed to the UN Secretary General Ban-ki Moon to fulfil his professional responsibility in providing justice to the people of Kashmir.

“They have been forcibly snatched their right to self-determination and the UN has failed, so far, in its role which it was ought to play and for which this institution was formed,” Gilani maintained. Gilani said terrorism in any form is unacceptable and condemnable but the biggest terrorism in the world is the state terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir which the people of Kashmir are facing.
