RAWALPINDI: Iraq keen to enhance trade ties with Pakistan and interested to promote Pakistani products in the Iraqi trade markets. Pakistani products like cement, fruits & vegetables, furniture, handicrafts, rice, poultry and meat are very much liked in our country, said the Ambassador of Iraq Dr. Rushdi Al-Ani while talking to a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Wednesday.
Rushdi said that Iraq was keen to enhance the bilateral trade relation with the Pakistan and every possible step would be taken in this regard. He further said that Pakistan and Iraq are two brother Islamic countries and it is need of the hour to promote trade activities between the two states.
He was of the view that Muslim countries should extend trade relations with each other to come out of the prevailing world economic crunch.
The Ambassador said that Pakistani products like textile, Basmati Rice, matches, surgical equipments and marble have huge space in the Iraqi trade market.
He said that Iraq Embassy will facilitate the Pakistani businessmen to get access of the Iraq markets and specially businessmen of the Rawalpindi region & RCCI members will be given preference. He ensured his full support to the President RCCI in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion President RCCI Jawed Akhtar Bhatti has said that Pakistan is a country full of natural resources and it is need of the hour to explore and to utilize them accordingly.
“Bilateral trade relation should be enhanced and trade volume between the said countries must be improved”, he stressed. He invited the Ambassador to invest in Pakistan and ensured his full cooperation in this regard.
