Iranian delegates to finalise 1,100MW power project today

ISLAMABAD: Additional Secretary in Ministry of Water and Power Hamid Ali Khan, during a meeting held at the parliament house on Tuesday, informed the members Standing Committee of Water and Power that an Iranian delegation would call on Wednesday on the members of the special committee on energy crisis led by Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh to finalise the 1,100 megawatt (MW) Iran-Pakistan power import project.

He said that the main agenda of the meeting between economic managers is to finalise the terms and conditions for import of 100MW power electricity from Iran for Gawadar and 1000 MW to curtail the demand and supply gap of power across the country.

Total cost of 100 MW imported power project was estimated at Rs 3.664 million including local component of Rs 1.730 million, while funds from foreign component Rs 1.934 billion from international donor community.
