Iran to provide assistance to Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in various sectors

Peshawar: Iran assured Khyber Pukhtunkhwa to provide assistance in development textiles industry, thermal plants, hydel power projects as well as promotes carpet industry and stone refining technology. Briefing media about recent visit of Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtunkhwa along with his cabinet members, the provincial minister for information and transport Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that Pakistan relation with Iran was not against the interest of any country.

He said Iran being neighbouring country could provide assistance to control the energy shortage as well develop its industrial sector. For the purpose, he said Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government has signed a memorandum of understanding according to which Iranian Province Isfahan will help Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in production of hydel power and thermal plants besides exchanging of experiences and information at both private and government level.

Mian Iftikhar said visit under the leadership of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hotti was a successful one. Keeping in view the country interests the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government would keep good relation with all countries, he added.

Minister said in order to boost the carpet industry; stone refining technology Trade exhibition would be held in which Isfahan will also provide help. He maintained that Iran would assist Pakistan to develop, textiles industry, thermal plants and hydel power projects.
