IOK HR body seeks report in mowing down of youth
Srinagar, June 08, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Human Rights Commission has sought a detailed reports from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar, and Director General of police (DGP) regarding the crushing of a youth to death by a vehicle of Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Srinagar on June 01 and vendalisation of the houses and properties of people in South Kashmir. The commission headed by Justice (retd) Bilal Nazki passed the directions in a petition filed by the Chairman of International Forum of Justice and Human Rights, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo.
The commission directed the SSP Srinagar to file a detailed report by July 02 in connection with mowing down of the youth Qaiser Butt. In a petition, the commission was requested to pass a direction to the concerned authorities to initiate action against the driver of an armored vehicle which crushed the youth. With regard to the petition filed before the commission about the ransacking of houses and properties in South Kashmir, the commission directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to file a detailed report regarding such incidents.
The petitioner has appealed to the commission to pass appropriate orders and direct the concerned authorities to stop the willful damage of public properties by the Indian forces. In the petition, the commission was also requested to direct the forces’ personnel not to harass the families of the living or slain freedom-fighter and not to desecrate the graves of the martyred youth.
