IOK authorities continue to deny passport to Syed Ali Gilani

Srinagar, May 15, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet administration has continuously deprived the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, of his passport which has made it impossible for him to visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia. The spokesman of the forum led by Syed Ali Gilani told newsmen in Srinagar that the veteran leader wanted to visit Saudi Arabia to enquire about the health of his ailing daughter who was admitted in a hospital in Jeddah but the authorities were not providing him with passport and other travel documents. He said that the condition of Syed Ali Gilani’s daughter was not satisfactory and the doctors in Saudi Arabia had kept her under continuous observation.

It is to be mentioned that the puppet authorities have deprived the veteran Hurriyet leader of his passport since long and despite submitting applications, the travel documents were not being provided to him. Meanwhile, the Chairman of International Forum for Justice and Human Rights, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and the Executive Director of Voice of Victims (VoV), a local rights forum, Abdul Qadeer, in their separate statements in Srinagar denouncing the authorities for depriving Syed Ali Gilani of his passport, described it the worst kind of human rights violation.

They also appealed to the international human rights organizations to take notice of the matter and impress upon India to issue passport to the veteran Hurriyet leader so that he could visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia.
