Indian police arrest Yasin Malik, other JKLF leaders in IOK

Srinagar, December 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police have arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik near Avantipora in Pulwama. Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested when he along with his colleagues was on his way to Kanilwan in Bijbehara to address a public gathering in connection with mass contact programme.

The JKLF Chief accompanied by Showkat A. Bakhshi, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Muhammad Amin Magloo and Bashir Ahmed. The leaders were stopped by police at Lettipora near Avantipora. Yasin Malik along with his colleagues staged a sit-in there against the highhandedness of Indian police. A large number of people from adjacent areas also joined the sit-in.

Then police on the occasion arrested the leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik after resorting to brute force on the protesting people. The detainees have been lodged at Avantipora police station. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement strongly condemned the arrest of Muhammad Yasin Malik and other party.
