Indian government urged to export grapes to Pakistan

New Delhi: Grape Exporters Association of India has urged its Commerce Ministry to add grapes to current list of Indian exports that go to Pakistan.

President of association, Jagannath Khapare said 51 items, including tomatoes and other fresh fruits, are being exported to Pakistan, but not grapes. “An Indian Commerce Ministry delegation is visiting Pakistan for trade talks in first half of February 2012. We have sent a letter to our Commerce Ministry’s joint secretary to take initiative in starting export of grapes to Pakistan,” he said.
