India businessmen invited to explore business opportunities

NEW DELHI: With a sizable import of $40 billion, Pakistan offers tremendous opportunities for Indian entrepreneur to make niche in its market, which has the potential to absorb durable Indian products.”

This was stated by Tariq Sayeed Immediate past president of SAARC CCI and former president of FPCCI, while addressing a large number of Indian businessmen at the federation of Indian exporter organizations (FIEO) in New Delhi during his recent visit to India.

He also invites Indian manufacturers to invest in Pakistan in mutually interested areas and visit Pakistan to explore business opportunities. “The business community of both countries need to benefit from each other potential and to execute ‘look eat policy’ in true prospective” said Mr. Sayeed and added that the participation of Pakistani exporter in Indian International Trade Fair(IITF) has been beneficial for promotion of Pakistani products in India.

Sayeed said that after success in New Delhi and Chandigarh, FPCCI is also planning to organize made in Pakistan exhibition in other important cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and similarly solo exhibition of India can also be organized in Pakistani cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

He also appreciated both the governments of India and Pakistan for initiating serious dialogue and perceived it as the commencement of new era in history of two countries.

“As the result of series of dialogue between commerce secretaries and ministerial round, the business community of Pakistan is certain that it would give tremendous boost to economic cooperation between two counties,” said former President of FPCCI, adding that adoption of flexible and pro-business visa policy, which would allow provision of multi entry visa for one year or more period of time, exemption from police reporting and multi city visas up to 10 cities as announced by Arvind Jai Mehta, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will not only promote people to people connectivity but also help increase trade manifold.
