Inauguration of K-4 Water project to minimize water crises by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi, May 26, 2015 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will inaugurate K-4 water project on 10 June for which all the arrangements have been completed and directives issues to all department concerned to complete the task.

Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has informed the high level meeting held on Tuesday at his office. Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Siddiqi, Secretary Local Government Imran Atta Soomro, Administrator KMC Saqib Soomro, MD KWSB Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi and all administrators of six zonal municipal committees (ZMCs) and other high officials and engineers attended the meeting.

While presiding over the meeting the Minister Sharjeel Memon said that government taken steps to overcome the water crisis in Karachi and 3000 water tankers is being supply free of cost to affected consumers on daily basis. The meeting was informed that 600 tankers are being supplied for district West, 300 daily for district South, 150 daily for district central and 50 tankers daily to remaining other districts.

The DCs of every district have been authorized for distribution of free water tanker service to affected people while the engineers of the water board are monitoring the arrangements. The meeting also decided that the cleanliness drive will continue under the Sarsabz Sindh program and all the district administrators would ensure the cleanliness drive twice in a week.

It was directed to the authorities to remove all wall chalking and directed the advertisement companies to remove the wall chalking within 15 days otherwise FIR would be lodge against them. The district local bodies’ authorities also directed to ensure 100 percent collection of taxes in there respected district.

It was decided to take action against the fake mineral water companies working in local areas and directed the authorities to ensure to mix the required chlorine in water. It was directed to all LG departments to ensure to open the bank account of all employees in Sindh Bank till 15 June otherwise the salary of the employees would be stop.

The meeting was informed that 18478 out of 27000 employees of the KMC opened their accounts in Sindh Bank while remaining has been directed to open the account. 8700 Out of 12944 KWSB employees opened their account in Sindh Bank while 2200 out of 3700 DMC East, 5500 out of 6100 in DMC Central, 2612 DMC Korangi, 2612 DMC Malir, 4195 DMC South employees opened their account as per directives. It was directed to all local bodies’ authorities to ensure to removal encroachments from their respected area.
