Hurriyet leaders condemn arrest spree in IOK

Srinagar, September 27, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Bilal Siddiqui, Zafar Akbar Butt, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Fareeda Behanji, Mohammad Sharief Sartaj, Shahid Saleem, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Firdous Ahmad Shah have condemned the arrest spree in Kashmir valley and Kishtwar district in Jammu region.

Hurriyet leaders while condemning the arrest of Saif-ud-Din Bagwan, Firdous Ahmad Bagwan and Molvi Abdul Qayoom Mattoo in Kishtwar expressed concern over the plight of Muslims in Chenab valley.

The Muslim population of Chenab valley and Pir Panchal regions is facing threats both from the anti-Muslim authorities and fascist forces.

However, the Muslims of Jammu region have the full backing of people of Kashmir, they said.

The leaders said that the killing and harassing people was a gross human rights violation and India is a threat to peace and freedom. They asked India to rein in its forces and take concrete steps for resolution of the Kashmir dispute for the peace and political and economic prosperity of the region.
