Hizb says 11 Indian troops were killed in Kupwara attack
Srinagar, May 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hizbul Mujahideen claiming responsibility of Tangdhar attack in Kupwara, has said that at least 11 Indian troops were killed in the assault carried out by its Mujahideen. The organization in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “A group of Mujahideen created panic among Indian troops near Darshi post in Tangdhar area of Kupwara, when they after cornering them from all sides, showered countless bullets on them, killing at least 11 troops.”
“It was a pre-planned attack. One Mujahid attained martyrdom when he tried to snatch a rifle from an Indian trooper,” the statement said. Hizb Chief, Syed Salahuddin and Deputy Commander, Muhammad Saifullah Khalid congratulated the Mujahideen, who participated in the attack. Pertinently, Indian Army on Monday said that three of its troops were killed and an officer sustained critical injuries in the attack on an army party in Tangdhar. It said that the troops had also killed a militant in the area.
