Gilani, Mirwaiz, Yasin condemn use of force on protesters

Srinagar, July 15, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, and Hurriyet leaders, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have strongly denounced the use of brutal force by Indian troops and police against the peaceful protesters and compelling of the traders and transporters by the puppet authorities not to support the ongoing movement.

The top Hurriyet leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar appealed to the people not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of the Indian imperialism or its local stooges and follow the joint programme in letter and spirit. They affirmed their resolve to lead this movement to its logical end no matter how brutal and cruel Indian aggression may be.

The leaders appealed to the imams of the mosques to lead protests against the killing of 40 young brave-hearts who were martyred by the cruel and inhuman Indian troops and police during the last one week after the martyrdom of Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Burhan Wani, and his associates.

The resistance leaders said that the Kashmiris had been fighting the Indian aggression and brutalism for decades and now they were facing do or die situation. They further said that the Kashmiri people would never succumb to any pressure as they believed their cause was just and they would fight to achieve it till their last breath.

On the sending of more troops by New Delhi to the occupied territory, the leaders said that not only three battalions even if India sent whole of its army to Kashmir, the Kashmiris would fight them tooth and nail and like always defeat them.

The leaders maintained that it was a long and continued struggle and “we need to be prepared for a prolonged but definite phase now”. Local Baitul Malls need to be activated and needy people especially victims of the Indian state terrorism need our utmost attention, they added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, telephoned Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and expressed solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir on behalf of Pakistan. A statement issued by the Hurriyet forum led by the Mirwaiz said that Bilawal Bhutto also condemned the killing of innocent Kashmiris by Indian forces.
