Gilani denounces imposition of curbs in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 27, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned curfew and other restrictions imposed by Indian authorities in Srinagar to prevent people from offering funeral in absentia of Kashmiri leader, Amanullah Khan.
The authorities had deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength around Lal Chowk area of the city where funeral prayers for the deceased was to be held. All entry points of Lal Chowk were sealed.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the restrictions as the worst example of state terrorism and intervention in religious affairs. He said every civil society gives respect to the deceased no matter to which school of thought he belongs.

Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani condemned in strong words once again the invoking of draconian Public Safety Act against detained Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Islamabad President Mir Hafizullah. He demanded immediate release of Mir Hafizullah and other illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists.
