Gilani calls for protests after Friday prayers tomorrow

Srinagar, November 26, 2015 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for peaceful protest demonstrations after Friday prayers, tomorrow, against harassment and detention of youth and Hurriyet leaders. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir was the only region of the world where law had no existence and where Indian troops were spilling blood of innocent Kashmiris with impunity.

He deplored that pro-India political parties of the territory had colluded with India in the genocide of the Kashmiri people for meagre benefits. He said that India under black laws had given a free hand to its troops to kill the innocent people of the territory. However, he maintained that New Delhi despite having used all oppressive measures had miserably failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ sentiment for freedom. He vowed that matchless sacrifices of the Kashmiri people for freedom would not be allowed to go waste.

The veteran leader appealed to people to hold peaceful protests after Friday prayers, tomorrow, against the unnecessary harassment and detention of youth in Palhallan and continued arrest of Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Meraj-ud-din Kalwal, Mir Hafeezullah Shakeel Ahmad Butt, Rayees Ahmad Mir and Abdul Ghani Butt. He also condemned the ill-treatment meted out to the Kashmiri detainees lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
