Founders Group calls for continuation of Edhi’s mission

Lahore, July 11, 2016 (PPI-OT): Founders Group of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has stressed the need for continuation of Abdul Sattar Edhi’s mission without any hindrance. Chairman of the Founders Group Ijaz Butt and most senior leader Mian Muhammad Ashraf stated this while addressing a meeting of the Group held to pay tributes to Abdul Sattar Edhi.

Syed Mohsin Raza Bukhari, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Tariq Hameed, Sheikh Mohammad Asif, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, Shahid Hassan Sheikh, Mian Muzaffar Ali, Farooq Iftikhar, Ijaz A. Mumtaz, former Senior Vice President Abdul Basit, existing Senior Vice President Almas Hyder, Vice President Nasir Saeed and other leaders of Founders Group were present in the meeting.

Ijaz Butt and Mian Muhammad Ashraf said that continuation of Edhis’s mission is the best way to pay tribute to the great humanitarian Abdul Sattar Edhi.

They said that Abdul Sattar Edhi would live in our hearts always. He is benefactor of humanity, hoisted Pakistan’s flag and became identity of Pakistan around the globe. He said that Edhi’s name became synonymous with generous causes.

“A famously austere figure, always clad in simple cloths. Abdul Sattar Edhi was not desired for worldly belongings and cared only about serving humanity”, leaders of Founders Group said. They said that Edhi personally worked in the field, helping victims of natural disasters and terrorism, until his health no longer allowed it.

Ijaz Butt and Mian Muhammad Ashraf said that government and Armed Forces of Pakistan deserve appreciation for paying matchless tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi.

“Services of Abdul Sattar Edhi are a beacon for entire nation and all segments of society should follow the examples set by this great man.

Leaders of the Founders Group urged the government take care of Edhi Foundation which is running a nationwide network of ambulances, orphanages, women’s shelter, medical and food aid centers.

Participants of the meeting, while paying great tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi, prayed to the Almighty Allah to keep the departed soul in peace and let the nation bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
