Expelled Kashmiri students observe hunger strike in Delhi

New Delhi, May 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): Expelled Kashmiri students of Rohtak Institute of Management and Engineering observed hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. They expressed disappointment over denial of the scholarship and were struck off from the rolls of the college and the hostel.“We were given admission to the institution. Now, we have been suddenly struck off from both the college and the hostel.

Our struggle is against oppressive university authorities who have asked us to pay fees from our own pockets in the middle of the semester, when the Indian government had promised us full time scholarships because they knew we would not be able to pay such high expenses,” said a Kashmiri student. He said that the puppet Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Indian Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Smriti Irani had also been intimated but there had been no response.
