Etihad Airways keen to start flights from Sialkot airport

SIALKOT –– The national flag carrier of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Etihad Airways has shown keen interest in early starting the direct international passenger and cargo flights from Sialkot international airport to several international destinations.

Amer N. Khan (Country Manager Etihad Airways Pakistan) stated this while talking to the Sialkot based senior newsmen at Allama Iqbal Lahore. He said that Etihad Airways was negotiating with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan and Pakistan government, in this regard, seeking early permission for early starting the direct international passenger and cargo flights from Sialkot airport to various international destinations.

He highly hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot and praised the Sialkot business community for setting up Sialkot International Airport on self help basis, advising others to replicate. He said that Sialkot airport would open the new vistas of socio-economic development in Sialkot region.

Amer N. Khan said that UAEIs national flag carrier Etihad Airways has successfully launched a dedicated luxury coach services, first time in Pakistan, for Etihad Airways guests travelling between Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and the cities of Sialkot and Faisalabad in active collaboration with Gerry’s International. He said that the daily service provided by luxury coaches under the coach operating system will be coordinated with the arrival and departure timings of Etihad Airways flights at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.

He said that this service exclusively would be dedicated to the Etihad Airways travellers, as they will be picked and dropped to Sialkot and Faisalabad and from there to Lahore airport as well under a fool proof security system, he added.
