EJAC holds protest demo in Srinagar to defend 35-A

Srinagar, August 26, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) held a demonstration at Pratap Park in Srinagar, today, against the onslaught on the Article 35-A, which provides special status to residents of Jammu and Kashmir.

Scores of government employees gathered at Pratap Park in Srinagar and chanted slogans in favour of Kashmir and Article 35-A. The EJAC President and Trade Union leader, Abdul Qayoom Wani led the protest.

The protesting employees demanded dismissal of the petitions seeking repeal of Article 35-A by the Indian Supreme Court.

The protesters said that such cheap tactics by the Indian Government against Jammu and Kashmir would never be tolerated. They appealed to all social, political and religious organizations to unite for safeguarding the constitutional provision.
