Economic Cooperation Organization member states trade $56bln

Dushanbe: Secretary General of Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Mines of Economic Cooperation Organization ECO Mohammad Reza Karbasi says trade volume among ECO member states including Pakistan amounted to $56 billion.

He said figure will grow once trade tariffs are reduced and other obstacles in way of trade among member states are removed. Noting Iran, Turkey, Pakistan & Afghanistan have already signed ECO Trade Agreement ECOTA, he hoped Tajikistan will join it soon. ECOTAT will enhance cooperation among private sectors of member states and raise trade volume once implemented.
