Director General National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi along with his team welcomes newly inducted under training investigation officers of Bureau

Islamabad, November 03, 2015 (PPI-OT): Director General NAB Rawalpindi Zahir Shah along with his team welcomed the newly inducted under training investigation officers of NAB at NAB Rawalpindi Regional Bureau. While addressing to the participants of investigators’ Basic Induction Course (IBIC-VII), DG NAB Rawalpindi highlighted the performance of NAB Rawalpindi.

The trainee Investigation officers of NAB are undergoing basic investigation training at Police Training College Sihala. Today, a group of 30 officers visited NAB (Rawalpindi) as part of their field visit component of training. The DG NAB Rawalpindi said that NAB is Pakistan’s apex anti-corruption organization which is assigned with the responsibility of elimination of corruption through a holistic approach of awareness, prevention and enforcement Bureaus.

NAB Rawalpindi is particularly very important Bureau as NAB Rawalpindi is a flagship of NAB and one of the important regional bureaus of NAB. It played prominent role in contributing towards the overall performance of NAB. He said NAB Rawalpindi has filed 12 corruption references in the Rs. 22 billion Modarba Scam and recovered Rs. 1 billion and 73 Crore from Modaraba Scam besides properties and vehicles. NAB has so arrested 32 accused persons in this case. NAB has also filed 7 corruption references in Rental Power Project cases in the respective Accountability Courts.

He said on the directions of Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudry, NAB has devised a new concept of Combine Investigation Team (CIT) as the CIT had indeed improved the quality of investigations as well as the professional capacity of Investigation officers (IOs). NAB has rationalize the workload and timelines have been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases putting a maximum limit of 10 months-from complaint verification-to-inquiry-to-investigation and finally to file a reference in the Accountability Court.

The DG NAB, Rawalpindi said that NAB under the leadership of Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudry Chairman NAB is committed to eradicate corruption by adopting Zero Tolerance Policy against Corruption across the board from the country.
