Devinder urges world to help resolve Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, July 28, 2016 (PPI-OT):On the directives of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, a high-level delegation of Hurriyet leaders, today, visited Tral and met people of different walks of life.

Hurriyet leader and the Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum (JKSPF), Devinder Singh led the delegation. The other members of the delegation were Mohammad Sayeed, Yasmeen Raja and Mohi-ud-din Andrabi. In Tral they organized a joint programme of Sikhs and Muslims of the area.

Addressing the gathering, Devinder Singh said that for last 20 days about 60 innocent youths had been killed by the Indian forces and about 4,000 people had been injured. He said that it was the duty of all the communities of Kashmir to come forward and condemn the Indian barbarism in strongest words.

He also appealed to the international community to help resolve the long-pending Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of its people.
He also appealed to the Sikh community of Kashmir to stand with their Muslim brethren at this crucial juncture.

On the occasion, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat district president, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Andrabi said that the communal harmony between Sikhs and Muslims was an old tradition in Kashmir which would be protected at all costs.

Addressing the gathering, Yasmeen Raja said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri people would not be allowed to go waste and ‘we have to be united in protecting these sacrifices.’ She also appealed to the world leaders to come forward and resolve the Kashmir dispute.
