Deputy Chairman ERRA meets ambassador of Nepal: Lessons learnt from ERRA’s success, Useful for handling reconstruction and rehabilitation of Nepal Earthquake affectees: Deputy Chairman ERRA

Islamabad, April 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): ERRA delegation led by the Deputy Chairman ERRA Maj Gen Azim Asif paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of Nepal, His Excellency Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal, today. Purpose of the visit was to show solidarity and condolence to people of Nepal who recently faced one of the worst natural disaster, a 7.9 earthquake that has jolted Nepal. His Excellency Ambassador of Nepal Bharat Raj Paudyal, expressed his gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for the swift action taken and appreciated the team of experts and health workers working in earthquake affected areas of Nepal.

Sharing earthquake 2005 experiences Deputy Chairman Maj Gen Azeem Asif said that both countries had similar topography, difficult terrain and hilly area and even the intensity of the jolts were similar. ERRA being a success story they discussed possibility of sharing knowledge, experiences and lessons learnt which could be utilized for the benefit of earthquake affected people of Nepal.
