Decision on Pandits’ return victory of IOK people: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, May 06, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has termed Indian government’s retreat on its plan of setting up separate townships for the Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir Valley as the victory of the Kashmiri people.

The APHC Chairman commenting on the decision in an interview in Srinagar said, “We welcome any rehabilitation package for Kashmiri Pandits but no separate settlements. The Indian government’s decision is a victory for people of the Valley.

We will welcome Pandits like our own brothers. They have nothing to fear here but we will not allow separate settlements.” Noted member of the civil society, Shakeel Qalandar, in an interview said that the whole Kashmir was waiting for Kashmiri Pandits to return to their native areas and people of the Valley would offer them full logistic support. The President of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation, Mohammad Sadiq Baqal, said that the Kashmiri people would welcome the Pandits.
