Czech Republic to enhance trade relations with Pakistan: Miroslov Krenek

Islamabad: Ambassador of Czech Republic Miroslov Krenek has said that his country eager to enhance trade relations with Pakistan and have already invested in two energy projects of 250 MW. Czech Republic can assist Pakistan in Engineering and Electronics sectors to further enhance the bilateral trade relations.

He was exchanging these views with the President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) Jawed Akhtar Bhatti during his visit to the Chamber here on Friday. Senior Vice President Raja Amer Iqbal, Vice President Chaudhary Iqbal Ahmed and other members of the Chambers were also present on the occasion.

Ambassador said that Pakistan is a safe place for the foreign investors to invest in Pakistan. He said that Czech Republic is one of few countries in the European Union who has remarkable trade volume of $42.5 million with Pakistan. “But it is need of the hour to further enhance the bilateral trade volume between two countries”, he added.

He further said that Pakistani products such as Chemical, Paper, Rubber, Sports good and Textile products are very eminent in Republic. He lauded the services of RCCI for the business community of the region.

Speaking on the occasion President RCCI Jawed Akhtar Bhatti has said that Pakistan is striving hard to come out of the prevailing global economic crunch and energy downfall in the country. He said that Pakistan need trade not aid and it is the right time for the friends of Pakistan to come forward and help Pakistan by investing in the country.

He demanded of the Ambassador that Free Trade Agreement (FTA) should be signed to further enhance the trade relation between the said countries.
