Czech investors eye energy, other sector in Pakistan

Karachi: A high level business delegation of Czech Republic will visit Pakistan in May to hold meetings with Pakistani counterparts for joint ventures in energy, coal mining, technical training, health, agriculture and livestock sectors.
This was stated by the president of Czech Middle-Asian Chamber of Commerce CSOK Jiri Nestaval while talking to newsman at a get-together here Tuesday evening. Managing director Pegasus Consultancy Aamer Khanzada and Advisor to President CSOK Milan Dvorak were also present.

“We want to bring in European technology in Pakistan, train Pakistani engineers and technicians in many fields and improve the efficiencies in power sector. We also have a technology to convert oil-fired power plants to coal”, he added.

He said the purpose of his first ever visit to Pakistan was to explore business potential and offer technology transfer under joint ventures Pakistani government as well as private sector.

Nestaval said that Czech companies produce high quality products which are marketed in entire European Union. Our companies manufacture top quality merchandises and machinery. Besides, we can also offer technology to Pakistani companies for improving their quality to meet world standards and lift up their competitiveness in the global market, he added.

He said that Pakistani exporters can produce high quality value added exportable items including textiles, food, leather products, pharmaceuticals with the help of Czech technology and earning more foreign exchange for their country.

He said Pakistani products are of good quality, yet their standards can be further improved for fetching good prices in the international market.
