Consultants brief Lahore Chamber of Commerce on 4320MW Dasu hydropower project

Lahore: Visiting consultants of 4,320MW Dasu mega hydropower project Saturday briefed Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry members on low-cost energy plant which will contribute 21.3 billion units of electricity to national grid and its benefits estimated at about Rs 191.7 billion annually.

Consultants IIJIMA Motohiko, Project Manager & Leader Dasu Hydropower Project, Hiroyasu Kitayama Chief Material Specialist Nippon Koei Co, Ltd, Japan, Toshimitsu Tanaka Nippon Koei Co, Ltd, Japan, Muhammad Munir Managing Partner Development & Management Consultants DMC & Ziaul Hassan Deputy Project Manager, discussed technical issues with LCCI Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher.

Meher said LCCI was ready to extend help so that work on mega hydropower project of national importance could start at the earliest. Project location is 7km upstream of Dasu village on Indus River, 74km downstream of Diamer Basha Dam in district Kohistan of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Water & Power Development Authority awarded contract to joint venture, Dasu Hydropower Consultants to prepare detailed engineering design and construction supervision. It has two foreign, three local consulting companies – Nippon Koei of Japan, Dolsar Engineering of Turkey, DMC, National Development Consultants & Pakistan Engineering Services.
