Complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir

Srinagar, December 31, 2012 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to protest against the indiscriminate firing of Indian troops on peaceful civilians in Pulwama. Call for the shutdown has been given by the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani to express solidarity with the victims.

Shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road. Working in the courts was affected as the lawyers boycotted the courts proceedings. Meanwhile, the occupation authorities continue to impose curfew in Pulwama town for the fourth consecutive day, today, to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations. At least fifteen people were injured when Indian troops had opened indiscriminate fire on peaceful civilians in Pulwama on Friday.
