Complete shutdown in IOK against killing of student

Srinagar, November 08, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to protest against the killing of a student by Indian troops in Srinagar, yesterday. According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the shutdown has been given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road.

The occupation authorities have imposed curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in all major towns to prevent people from holding demonstrations against the cold-blooded murder of the student. The student, Gowhar Ahmed Dar, was killed, yesterday, when Indian troops fired teargas shells on peaceful demonstrators who were protesting at Zainakote in Srinagar against Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to occupied Kashmir.

Several other people were injured due to use of brute force by Indian forces’ personnel at various places in the territory. Eyewitnesses told mediamen that the troops had resorted to unprovoked teargas shelling on peaceful protesters at Zainakote.
