Chinese delegation meets Minister for Information Technology

Islamabad, November 11, 2015 (PPI-OT): “Pakistan’s ICT sector offers enormous opportunities of investment for Chinese companies. The broad band penetration has risen from 3% to 15% over a short space of less than a year. This growing trend coupled with other positive indicators position the country as an ideal place to invite international collaboration in various areas of ICT including IT Parks, Telecom Infrastructure and local manufacturing of mobile handsets, said Anusha Rahman while meeting the high level Chinese delegation on Wednesday.

Chinese team expressed their resolve to continue their time tested partnership with Pakistan and resolved to invest in key sectors of economy to help reap mutual benefits. The head of delegation Mr. Song thanked Minister for IT for her valuable insight on ICT landscape of the country and showed his commitment to bring the big Chinese consortium to invest in IT and telecom sector.

The meeting was attended by Senator Mr. Talha Mahmood along with senior leadership of Ministry of IT including Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ranjha, Additional Secretary Mr. Babar Bharwana, MD PSEB Mr. Asim and Chairman NTC Mr. Waqar. The Minister for IT thanked the delegation for their commitment to spearhead investment in ICT sector. She expressed her hope to continue this bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefits of two brotherly countries.
