Chinese Consul General regards Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry a pivotal organization for establishment of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

Lahore, February 24, 2016 (PPI-OT): Chinese Consul General Mr. Yu Boren has regarded Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCC) a pivotal organization for establishment of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that PCJCCI was the most prominent body in building friendly relations with China having a special focus on CPEC initiatives. It was stated by him at a reception hosted by him along with the Deputy Consul General of China Mr. Wang Daxue to pay special tributes to Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi, President and executive committee members of PCJCCI for playing a momentous role in fortifying Pak-China friendship.

Salahuddin Hanif; Secretary General, Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry also accompanied Mr. Afridi on this occasion.

Mr. Yu Boren, in his address of welcome, said that PCJCCI was resolute to serve as a model chamber and a vibrant platform for promoting mutual investment and friendship between Pakistan and China. Mr. Yu Boren also said that in a very short period of time PCJCCI had become a mainstream leading organization leaving no stone unturned in facilitating any move that can fortify the bilateral relations. He acknowledged that all the achievements of PCJCCI had become possible due to a capable team comprised of such committed and proficient people.

Mr. Wang Daxue also appreciated the endeavours of PCJCCI for providing a platform where the plans could put into reality. He particularly admired the ideas of Faisal Afridi for creating Pak-China Technology University, Pak-China Knowledge corridor and an exclusive China Town in the country to facilitate Chinese people working in Pakistan.

The President and Executive committee members of PCJCCI expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Yu Boren for the honoured reception. Shah Faisal Afridi replying to the address of welcome of Chinese Consul General said that China had formulated a best development model and developing countries like Pakistan could learn a lot from Chinese strategic model.

Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi pledged to keep on striving to have conducive business policies in Pakistan and appreciated the present government for paying due heeds to all of the positive and viable recommendations for creating a business friendly environment in the country that had paved a way for stronger economic ties between Pakistan and China.

Mr. S.M. Naveed, Senior Vice President mentioned that all efforts of PCJCCI were focusing on “sustainable development” based on mutual benefits. “Sustainable development is in fact a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations; he added and applauded Chinese policy measures to deal with the financial crisis. He appreciated that China had made a great progress after opening its economy two decades ago to a market economy.

Mr. Zarak Khan informed that PCJCCI along with its members was aspiring for the creation of a “Future we want” and the simplest strategy that we have opted to achieve this vision is to Re think, Redesign and Rebuild. Mr. Farhan Latif urged the Chinese diplomats to promote balanced development in the world with the special efforts to strengthen South-South cooperation and North-South cooperation.
