China Pakistan Economic will bring economic revolution in entire region and all Economic Cooperation Organization member countries will be beneficiary of CPEC: Mian Muhammad Adrees

Karachi, December 14, 2015 (PPI-OT): ECO is the emerging region of the world for having great natural resources and geographical location coupled with human resources hence offering great opportunities to the other counters for investment, this was stated by Mian Muhammad Adrees President ECO CCI and FPCCCI while addressing the inaugural session of 26th Regional Planning Council (RPC) Meeting organized by ECO Secretariat yesterday at Tehran Iran.

While emphasizing on the importance of regional economic cooperation and importance of ECO Region in the Central Asian Countries, President ECO CCI informed the RPC meeting that ECO CCI has been playing vital role in enhancing economic activities in the region, intra trade volume and opening of new avenues for joint venture and investment. He also informed that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring economic revolution in the entire region and all ECO member countries will be beneficiary of CPEC.

The RPC meeting consists of different parallel sessions on Trade and Investment, Economic Research and Statistics, Transport and Communication, Agriculture Industry and Tourism, Human Resource and Development, Energy Mineral and Environment etc.

ECO-CCI is one of the important affiliated bodies of the ECO whose presidency and Secretariat is currently operated from Pakistan. During the inauguration session Mian Muhammad Adrees, President ECO-CCI and FPCCI briefly explained ongoing and upcoming activities of ECO-CCI including General Assembly, Executive Committee and Specialized Committee of ECO-CCI, fourth ECO business forum to be held in Azerbaijan, ECO ASEAN business forum, first meeting of ECO Public and Private Sector Energy/Consortium etc.

He also updated the house regarding the signing to TIR convention by Pakistan and its implementation status and improving the air connectivity between Pakistan and Central Asian Countries, he also informed about the holdings of ECO awareness programmes in different TV Channels and Newspapers.

Apart from President ECO-CCI the delegation of ECO-CCI comprised Dr. Ayub Mehar, Economic Advisor of the ECO-CCI, Mr. Ismail Sattar and Mr. Ahmed Zaman Khan, representatives of ECO-CCI etc. The meeting will finalize overall action plan for next year for promoting the interaction between ECO member countries.
