XCMG Machines Brought onto BHP Mining Project in Australia

XUZHOU, China, May 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — XCMG, the world’s leading construction machinery manufacturer, is providing equipment for BHP’s major iron ore mining site in Pilbara, Australia. XCMG has delivered GR3505 motor graders to BHP’s site in Pilbara, one of the company’s five world-class iron mines in the region which have an annual production of 275 million tons. BHP chose the GR3505, which XCMG has upgraded to meet BHP and Australia’s mining equipment standards, for its acclaimed maneuverability, functionality, efficiency and safety standards.

Kerui Petroleum’s WEFIC MSW-1 Shallow Water Mudline Suspension Wellhead System achieves breakthrough in China’s underwater drilling technology

SINGAPORE, Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — On June 22, 2017, the MSW-1 Shallow Water Mudline Suspension Wellhead System, a proprietary solution developed by Kerui Petroleum’s high-end wellhead brand, WEFIC®, successfully completed its API 17D subsea production system performance test, filling the gap in China’s mudline suspension technology for underwater oil and gas production and marking a breakthrough in China’s underwater drilling and mining technology. The roll-out of the solution is a milestone in terms of the country’s underwater oil and gas production.

MSW-1 Shallow Water Mudline Suspension Wellhead System

The test fully simulated the installation and pressure in the mudline environment. In the test, 9 5/8″ and 20″ casing strings were able to bear 500 ton and 1,500 ton loads respectively, and operate under a pressure of up to 15,000 PSI. The entire system can be deployed to complete drilling operations at a depth of approximately 150 meters, and tied back to the platform for well completion. During the test, Kerui Petroleum invited the client to take part in the field observation, and the client expressed satisfaction with the product design and production quality.

Huang Youliang, head of the project at Kerui Petroleum, explained that the MSW-1 Shallow Water Mudline Suspension Wellhead System seals and suspends the casing strings at each layer in the mudline, controlling and transferring the pressure during underwater drilling. It features a simple design, quick installation and a high level of safety, and can replace the deep sea wellhead during a shallow water drilling operation, reducing drilling costs by 10-20 percent.

King & Spalding Advises Sadara on Operations and Maintenance Agreement

DHAHRAN, SAUDI ARABIA–(Marketwired – April 17, 2013) – King & Spalding advised Sadara Chemical Company during the tendering and bid evaluation for an operations and maintenance agreement for packaging and shipping with Al Majdouie De Rijke Limited Company.

The contract, which was signed in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, on April 14, is one of several related project agreements in connection with the integrated performance chemicals and plastics complex known as the Sadara Complex, now being built in Jubail Industrial City II in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Total investment for the Sadara project will be approximately US$20 billion.

Sadara is a joint venture developed by Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) and The Dow Chemical Company. The Sadara Complex, comprising 26 manufacturing units initially, will be one of the world’s largest integrated chemical facilities and the largest ever built in a single phase. It will contain flexible cracking capabilities, producing over three million metric tons of high value-added chemical products and performance plastics per year.

CAS Registers 70 Millionth Substance Just 18 Months After Reaching 60 Millionth Milestone

Patents from Asian countries continue to be the leading source of chemistry disclosures

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire — Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), the world’s authority for chemical information, announced today a major milestone for the CAS REGISTRY(SM), the largest collection of publicly disclosed chemical substance information. CAS scientists registered the 70 millionth substance from a patent application submitted to the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO).

The 70 millionth substance is a potential T-type calcium channel blocker discovered at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), a multidisciplinary research institute in Seoul, South Korea. Assigned CAS Registry Number® 1411769-41-9, the substance is one of several pyrazolyl-piperazine compounds disclosed in the patent application published by KIPO on November 14, 2012. This molecule may be useful in the treatment of epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and other conditions.

Between September and November 2011, Berkh Uul JSC engaged the professional management services of CBM LLC, which exclusively provides consulting services to Berkh Uul JSC’s controlling shareholder Firebird and its group of companies, to assist in the design and implementation of an1800 meter drilling program over the Delgerkhaan mining license under the guidance of international resource consultancy firm Micromine.

The drilling program focused on confirming historic joint Mongolian and Russian drilling to to bring the resource into a NI 43-101 compliant resource format. In addition, the drilling targeted deeper unexplored veining to extend the down dip depth of the deposit. 3D wireframe modelling was undertaken, taking the historic mining into account.

Berkh Uul JSC produced fluorspar until 2008 when operations were shut down. The company is moving onto the prefeasibility stage of the project, which it hopes to complete in the first quarter of 2013. Berkh Uul JSC is committed to reopening Delgerkhan, historically one of the largest producing fluorspar mines in Mongolia.
