Awareness campaign for Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme 2016

Karachi, February 10, 2016 (PPI-OT): In the wake of policy directives of Federal Board of Revenue regarding creating awareness among potential non filers/ delinquent filer traders with reference to which the Federal Government has launched VTCS, the representative of trade Association of the most conspicuous business centre named “Haroon Centre, located in Territorial Jurisdiction of the Zone (New Town Karachi) were invited at the Conference Hall of RTO-III, as directed by Worthy Chief Commissioner-IR, through Commissioner-IR, Zone-IV, RTO-III, Karachi on 04.02.2016.

The following attended the meeting with Mr. Hyder Ali Dharejo, the Commissioner, in the Chair:-

3. Mr. Muhammad Javed (Patron Chairman) Haroon Emporium Welfare Association, New Karachi Town

5. Mr. Qamaruddin (General Secretary)

6. Shamshad Ali Siddique (Member)

The meeting was initiated by the Commissioner with routine salutation and introduction of his team members. The representatives of the Association were warmly welcomed and appreciated for their pro active and positive attitude.

After explaining salient features of the Scheme by the Commissioner, Mr. Maqsood Jahangir – the Additional Commissioner, was invited to explain the details, focus and the benefits of filing options of the voluntary Scheme 2016. The Additional Commissioner also explained the reasons, objectives, features and benefits of the Scheme, to the satisfaction of the participants.

The Representative of the Association took keen interest in understanding the features and raised various quarries and objections which were politely and candidly elaborated to them to their satisfaction. It was also mutually agreed that the meeting will be followed by a comprehensive meeting in the Area very soon where the members of the Association will be addressed and informed accordingly.

The Association members took the initiative to spread the words across the board and cooperate in spreading the campaign of FBR. They were also handed over brochures and hand outs to be delivered to more than 300 members. The Association assured that they will arrange a meeting at Haroon Centre with their members at their earliest. The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the Chair and the participants.
