Attock Chamber of Commerce and Industry asks Gilani to step down

Islamabad: The Attock Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) on Friday asked the embattled Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to resign so that environment of confrontation can be subsided.

Some political parties have started preparations to launch movements which will add to uncertainty and take toll on economy, it said.

Intervention of COAS Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani saved country from an expected crisis which would have taken toll on economy, said Tariq Mehmood, President ACCI.

He said that following the SC verdict, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) launched a vicious campaign against honourable court and respected judges.

The rulers failed to obey the decision of SC and started maligning judiciary which could have resulted in another serious crisis which was averted by the intervention of COAS.

Tariq Mehmood who is also Chairman FPCCI Standing Committee on Health, And Director Pak-UK Business Council said that Kayani called upon all organs of the state to perform their duties while remaining within the limits of the Constitution.

By declaring that law is equal for all, the COAS delivered a clear message which helped dilute the temperatures, he observed.

Army remains great source of pride for masses and business community, said Tariq.
