Aasiya wants strategy to advance freedom movement

Srinagar, April 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, has asked pro-freedom leadership to devise a strategy to actively take forward the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion. A DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “The DeM held a meeting which was presided over by party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi. During the meeting, it was observed that pro-freedom enthusiasm of the people should be encouraged. The meeting urged the leadership to devise a mechanism to pressurize India to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions.

The Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief’s recent meeting with Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit was also discussed during the meeting. The participants were informed that Pakistani envoy assured Aasiya Andrabi that Islamabad was committed to its policy stand on Kashmir. “Basit also said that Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of the partition and that Pakistan would always support Kashmiris in their cause,” the statement added.
