50,000ton urea import ordered – Alfalah Securities Limited

Karachi: The federal government has asked TCP to import 50,000 tons of urea on immediate basis in order to overcome present shortage in the country.

According to Alfalah Securities Limited, the decision of importing urea was taken on account of delayed agreement under SABIC. Import tenders have been issued along with their specifications under Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority and according to the conditions of import policy 2010. The imported urea would be received at C&F Karachi, Port Qasim and Gawadar port which would then be handled to NFML for distribution, transportation and bagging to the farmers.
