Havildar Ahmed Khan, embraced shahadat while 3 soldiers got injured. 38 years old Shaheed Havildar Ahmed Khan belonged to District Mianwali and left behind widow, son and two daughters.

India grilled for using force on worshipers

Srinagar, August 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has lashed out at the Indian authorities for using force on congregational Eid prayers in Srinagar and other parts of the territory on Eid day. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar termed the firing of pellets and teargas shells by the Indian troops on worshipers at Eidgah in Srinagar and elsewhere a total disrespect to the Muslim festivals. He described the forces’ action as shameful and inhuman.

The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League at a meeting in Srinagar also condemned the use of brute force on worshippers. The designated Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasirul Islam in a statement said, the people of Jammu and Kashmir celebrate Eid in an atmosphere where their children are killed by the Indian forces, uninterruptedly.

People defying curfew-like restrictions came out of their houses and staged protests in Kishtwar district of Jammu region. They raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Meanwhile, three police personnel including an officer were killed in a series of attacks in South Kashmir, yesterday. Unknown men killed an Inspector and a constable in Pulwama and one constable in Kulgam districts. An assistant sub-inspector escaped bid on his life when unknown armed men opened fire on him in Kellar area of Shopian.

An Indian soldier was injured in an attack during a cordon and search operation in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Indian army confirmed soldier Gursay Singh suffered bullet injuries and was shifted to a military hospital for treatment. On the other hand, Satya Pal Malik, today, took oath as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar. He was administered the oath by Chief Justice of Kashmir High Court Gita Mittal.

Indian soldier injured in attack in Kupwara

Srinagar, August 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian soldier was injured in an attack during a cordon and search operation in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Indian army claimed that the soldier was injured in a brief gunfight in the forest area of Wagbhal in Kupwara, last night.

The army said that the soldier, Gursay Singh, suffered bullet injuries and was shifted to military hospital Drugmulla for treatment. It said that additional reinforcements of army and police reached the site and the operation was intensified in the area.

Inspector among three cops killed in IOK

Srinagar, August 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an officer among three policemen were killed in a series of attacks in South Kashmir. Unknown men barged into the house of Inspector Mohammad Ashraf at Larve in Pulwama district and opened fire on him. The Police officer was critically injured and succumbed on his way to hospital.

A policeman in Awgam village of Kulgam district of South Kashmir was also killed in an attack. He was critically injured in the firing and later succumbed at a nearby hospital. The cop has identified as Fayaz Ahmad Shah of Zazripora village. Shah, who was earlier working as a Special Police Officer (SPO) was recently promoted as constable.

Another policeman, identified as Mohammad Yaqoob was fired upon from the point-blank range outside his home at Louswani village in Pulwama. He was critically injured and was immediately taken to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Newa wherefrom he was referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries on way to Srinagar hospital.

A police officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Dilbar Ahmad escaped bid on his life when unknown armed men barged into his house in Kellar area of Shopian and opened fire on him. He escaped unhurt as he jumped out of window. Some masked men also barged into the house of SHO Tral, Mohammad Yusuf in Bijbehara area of Islamabad district but he was not at home and had left two hours before the men reached his house. Political analysts see the series of attacks on police officers as reaction to threatening statements of DG Police, Shesh Paul Vaid.

Mufti Nasir greets Kashmiri Muslims on Eid

Srinagar, August 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Grand Mufti designate, Mufti Nasirul Islam while extending Eid greetings to people of Jammu and Kashmir has prayed that this Muslim festival may bring freedom from tyranny of India.

Mufti Nasirul Islam in a message in Srinagar said that the Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir were celebrating Eidul Adha in an atmosphere where their children were killed by the Indian forces with each passing day. He urged the fellow Muslims to celebrate the festival with simplicity and remembers the families of Kashmiri martyrs and the detainees on the occasion.

Army soldier martyred, three others injured in North Waziristan IED blast

One security forces personnel has been martyred and three others sustained injuries in an IED blast in Dan Kilay area of North Waziristan district.

According to ISPR, the martyred 38 years old Havildar Ahmed Khan belonged to District Mianwali and left behind widow, son and two daughters.

It said that the incident took place during search and clearance operation when Pak Army’s bomb disposal team was on routine search and clear operation as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fassad.
