Meeting discusses enhancing security features in new motorbikes

Karachi, July 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): A meeting was held today with representatives of Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association( PAMA) in the office of SSP ACLC Karachi in which various points related to enhancing security features in the motorbikes were discussed. The meeting was also attended by officials from Pakistan Rangers and CPLC. SSP ACLC apprised the members about need to improve lock and amp; key system in new bikes to better prevent rising trend of motorcycle theft in Karachi city.

The participants agreed to take up the matter with design engineers. It was also agreed that trackers and RFID chips in number plates can help Police detect and recover stolen motorcycles. In the end, it was decided to hold another deliberative session in which representatives from Excise, Law and Home departments would be invited. Regards.

Chief Secretary ensures foolproof security during polls, after announcement of election results

Karachi, July 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Major Retired Azam Suleman Khan has said that foolproof security will be ensured during polls and also after announcement of the results of the elections. This he said in an important meeting to review arrangements made for general elections. The meeting discussed various agendas including security plan, missing facilities, installation of CCTV cameras at sensitive polling stations, lady searchers, emergency plan for hospitals and transportation plan. The meeting was attended by the IG Sindh Amjad Javed Salemi, Provincial Election Commissioner, Home Secretary, Secretary Information Qasi Shahid Parvez, representatives of law enforcing agencies while all divisional commissioners have participated in the meeting via video link.

The Chief Secretary stated that free, fair and peaceful election is top most priority of the provincial government. Representative of NRTC in his briefing said that the installation of CCTV at sensitive poling stations has been completed while installation at few improvised polling stations will also be completed today. Chief Secretary Sindh stated that the process of Installation of 21000 CCTV cameras will be completed today at 5673 sensitive polling stations of the province. ” All missing facilities have been provided successfully and generators and UPS’s will be provided today” added the Chief Secretary.

The IG Sindh Amjad Javed Salemi briefed the meeting regarding pre and post election security arrangements and transportation plan. IG Sindh informed the meeting that police Rangers and other law enforcement agencies have enhanced close coordination and Information sharing in order to avoid any unwanted situation.

The Chief Secretary directed IG Sindh to take stern action against the elements involved in aerial firing and firework after announcements of the result. The Chief Secretary further stated that all the International and National Observers and Media personnel should follow code of the conduct and SOP issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The CS also directed Health, Information and other important departments to remain open during Election Day and make sure the presence of their staff.

Earlier, all Divisional Commissioners have briefed the meeting regarding provision of missing facilities, presence of polling staff and other issues related to General elections. The CS directed all commissioners and DIGs to remain in field and visit polling stations and ensure foolproof arrangements for GE.

The CS emphasized on presence of all polling staff and said strict disciplinary action will be taken against the employees remaining absent from election duties. The Chief Secretary Sindh also directed the Home Secretary to ensure that all mobile towers vans to reach at remote areas of the province to ensure uninterrupted network supply. The Chief Secretary said that he has a great team and he is optimist that the whole process of general election will be peacefully and they are working hard for great national cause.

Karachi, July 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Government of Sindh, Services, General Administration and Coordination Department has notified that in pursuance of the Honourable Election Commission of Pakistan’s Notification dated 10.07. 2018 and with the approval of the Competent Authority (Chief Minister, Sindh), all the Assistant Commissioners in Sindh shall perform the functions of Administrators of the Town Committees/ Union Councils of their respective Talukas / Local Councils / Committees till 25.07.2018.

CS Sindh wants close coordination among all security agencies

FPCCI Executive Committee meeting held at Federation House

Lahore, July 23, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Executive Committee (EC) meeting of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry was held Federation House (in chair) and regional offices through video link to discuss the current economic situation with special reference to export package 2018-2, strategy Trade Policy Framework (STPF) 2018-23, recent hike in POL prices and its impact on economy.

During the meeting members passed unanimous resolution strongly condemning the blast in Peshawar and Mastung, Balochistan. They also expressed deep grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives in the blast and lauded the efforts of the Pakistan Armed Forces in eradicating terrorism from the soil of Pakistan and hoped that remaining few terrorist would soon be eliminated from the country.

The meeting also expressed its heartfelt condolences to President FPCCI Ghazanfar Bilour and his family on the martyrdom of Barrister Haroon Bilour. It also expressed grief over the martyrdom of Siraj Raisani and expressed its heartfelt condolences.

The meeting offered Fateha for the departed soul and extended deepest sympathies to the members of the bereaved families. The meeting demanded all required help and assistance for the families of the departed souls and proper medical care for those injured in the bomb blast from the Federal and the Provincial government of Baluchistan.
