20 truckloads of relief items for calamity-hit people of Gilgit-Baltistan dispatched

Lahore, April 12, 2016 (PPI-OT):On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, food and essential items worth 12 crore rupees for the flood and rain affectees of Gilgit-Baltistan were dispatched through 20 trucks by Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin and Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman in their personal supervision, here today. Senior Member Board of Revenue Jawad Rafique Malik, Director General PDMA Jawad Akram and other officers were present on the occasion.

According to details, these goods included five trucks of medicines, seven trucks of tents, eights trucks food hampers containing dry milk, tea, biscuits, pulses, matchboxes, salt and other items. These items have been sent to Chaklala Air Base Rawalpindi from where it will airlifted to Gilgit-Baltistan through C-130 plane.

Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman and Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that Punjab government has always been in the forefront of relief activities for the victims of natural calamity anywhere in the country. He said that the relief items sent today were in accordance with the demand of Gilgit-Baltistan government.
