Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh for timely completion of uplift schemes of Archives department

Karachi, January 27, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information and Archives Mr. Maula Bux Chandio has directed the officers of Archives department for timely and transparent completion of development projects adding that Archives department has pivotal role in preserving and maintaining the richest and protected centuries old government record, books and literary rare material.

This he directed while chairing a high level meeting of officers of information and Archives department to review progress on uplift schemes at Archives Department, Clifton Karachi on Wednesday. The meeting was attended among others by provincial Secretary Information and Archives Department Mr Zahid Memon, Coordinator to Advisor Information Barkat Babbar, Director Archives Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Makhdoom, Director Research Revender Eleja and Deputy Director Altaf Qureshi.

Advisor to CM Sindh directed the Archives department officers to expedite the efforts for early completion of development schemes and envisage a comprehensive plan for conducting Video interviews of personalities who are real asset of Sindh and have made remarkable achievement in different walks of life ranging from Education, Politics, Culture, History, Music, Folk lore, journalism, business, Philanthropy and other sectors.

He asked for constituting a team of experts for this purpose which should identify such personalities and conduct their interviews for highlighting their achievements in their respective fields and preserve record for present young and future generation. “This work must be done without any political affiliation, discrimination and record of all extra ordinary personalities of Sindh be preserved on merit basis” he added.

During the Briefing, Director Archives Sindh Zulfiqar Ali Makhdoom informed that work of establishment of exhibition gallery at the Archives department was in progress and it will be completed by the June 2016. He said that manuscripts, old books, other rare material and copies of old newspapers like Al-Waheed, Comrade, Taleem, Hindwasi, Sindhri, Sindhi, Jagarti will be kept in the exhibition gallery which could be used for ready reference for research purpose. He added that it will bring history to life for satisfying growing appetite of present and future researchers by making valuable national information available.

Giving the details of the uplift projects, Mr Zulfiqar Ali Makhdoom informed that presently 9 Mega development schemes are being executed in Sindh Archives which include Preservation of rare Maps, preservation of fragile judicial records(1866-1947) available at Sindh Archives, Establishment of Sindh Reprography Lab, preservation of rare manuscripts, Establishment of Exhibition Gallery (Display and Collection of collectables), Establishment of Museum, at Sindh Archives, Establishment of district Archives at Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana. Besides repair and renovation of Sindh archives complex is also underway, he added.

Advisor Information and Archives stressed upon the officers and staff of Archives department to use their professional capacities for orderly record keeping and preservation of old and rare manuscripts and historical documents for research and ready reference for research scholars.

Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh condoles demise of mother of Shoaib Qureshi

Karachi, January 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information and Archives Mr. Maula Bux Chandio has expressed his deep sorrow over the sad demise of mother of Sindh TV News In-charge Mr Shoaib Qureshi here on Monday.

Mr Maula Bux Chandio condoled with Mr. Qureshi and other members of the deceased family and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. In his condolence statement, Advisor to CM Sindh prayed to Almighty Allah to grant fortitude to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh welcomes announcement of timely retirement by Army Chief

Karachi, January 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information and Archives Mr. Maula Bux Chandio while welcoming the announcement of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif to get retirement from service on due time has termed it a bold, courageous and appropriate decision in favour of the Pak Army as an institution and nation as a whole.

In his statement issued here on Monday, Mr. Maula Bux Chandio said that Pak Army has made remarkable achievements in the war on terror under the command of General Raheel Sharif. He added that army was engaged in biggest war against enemy on Pakistani soil and General Raheel Sharif’s leading role in this connection is highly commendable.

Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh lauding the professional services of General Raheel Sharif said that the entire nation salutes him for his just and timely decision which will strengthen the most important institution of the country.

Transfers and postings of Judges

Karachi, November 09, 2015 (PPI-OT):The Chief Justice and the Judges of the High Court of Sindh have transferred Mr. Sultan Ali Leghari (Additional District and Sessions Judge) presently posted as OSD High Court of Sindh, Karachi and posted him as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Khipro against the newly created post with immediate effect, in the public interest.

According to a notification issued by the Registrar, Mr. Khalid Hussain Leghari, Senior Civil Judge/ Assistant Sessions Judge Naushahro Feroze transferred and posted as Senior Civil Judge and Assistant Sessions Judge Matli against the post lying vacant. Mr. Javed Ahmed Keerio, District and Sessions Judge (waiting for posting) to join his new assignment as Judge Anti-Terrorism Court No. VIII, Karachi.

Health Department committed to serve people: Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar

Karachi, November 09, 2015 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Health, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that we are committed to serve the suffering humanity and we all have taken an oath to serve the people. This he said, while taking an oath from all heads of major hospitals, district health officers and heads of various health projects, in a ceremony on reviewing the performance of the health department at the Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre.

It was a unique occasion, attended by Secretary Health Sindh Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo, DG Health Dr. Hassan Murad Shah, Special Secretary health Dr. Riaz Memon, Executive Director JPMC Dr. Professor Anis Bhatti, MS Civil Hospital, Karachi Dr. Saeed Qureshi; they all including Provincial Minister for Health took an oath that they would perform their duties honestly and dedicatedly and would not leave any stone unturned in disposing of their duties, serve the patients and would not involve in any corruption.

He added, ‘The officials also discussed shortcomings of the Department and the government has planned to devolve powers from the secretariat to lower level.’ Health Minister assured the people of the province that there was no dearth of funds for health sector but due to certain administrative issues, we had some problems, but would solve them and health facilities would be improved as well.

In the ceremony the heads of the projects and health experts gave suggestions on how to improve public sector hospitals and health facilities in the province. He said that he had taken many highly significant measures to eradicate corruption in health ministry and more than 400 doctors had been removed from service since he had taken the charge, adding that these doctors had been long absent and mostly had gone on ex-Pakistan and not returned to their homeland.
