Minister for Local Bodies Jam Khan Shoro attends Diplomatic Reception on 71st Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia

Karachi, September 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): To mark the 71st Anniversary of the Independence day of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesian Consul General in Karachi and Mrs. Hadi Santoso hosted a diplomatic reception at the Garden of Indonesian Consulate, Clifton.

The reception was attended by Minister for Local Bodies Jam Khan Shoro and Sindh Government officials, including the members of Sindh Assembly, diplomats, honorary consul generals, businessmen, politicians and representatives from civil society in Karachi. It was started by playing the national anthems of Indonesia and Pakistan and followed by remarks of the Consul General Hadi Santoso and the Minister for Local Bodies who was the chief guest at the reception.

On his remarks, the Consul General welcomed all the guests and extended the warmest regards of the guests to those who are attending the reception. He also extended warmest and sincerest felicitation to the Government and people of Pakistan, particularly in Sindh Province, on the auspicious occasion of the 70th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan which was celebrated on 14th August 2016.

The Consul General shortly elaborated the Indonesian current economic development under the dynamic leadership of President Joko Widodo which was characterized, among others by significant achievement in economic growth amid the current global economy slowdown.

The Consul General expressed his confidence that the future of bilateral economic relations between the two brotherly countries will be more strengthened in years ahead.

Jam Khan Shoro who in his speech congratulated the Indonesian Consul General on the auspicious occasion. He reiterated the longstanding relations between the two brotherly countries which has been established since a long time, and underlined the huge potentials the two countries have that should be further explored for the mutual benefit of the two countries, particularly in economic sector, among others through business­ to-business contact. With the huge potentials and similarities the two countries have, he believed that the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries will be further strengthened.

During the function, some Indonesian traditional cuisine were served and Indonesian songs and dances were performed which were much appreciated by the guests.

Two-day Indonesian Solo Exhibition organized in successful manner

Islamabad, August 28, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi organised the two-day solo exhibition and cultural performances at Ocean Tower. The Exhibition provided the opportunity to the businessmen of both the countries to explore the possibilities of entering new markets with a long-term vision of gaining economic prosperity.

Younus Muhammad Bashir, President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry cut the ribbon alongwith Hadi Santoso, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, Consul General of Malaysia, Chairman Pakistan Indonesia Business Forum and others.

A large number of stalls comprising Indonesian products, including garments, spices, handicrafts, besides airlines, travel agencies, and Indonesian food products were set up at the exhibition, so as to promote Indonesian exports in general and tourism sector in particular. Documentary, describing tourism and trade facilities, opportunities, beautiful spots,, was also a part of the exhibition.

One among other most interesting aspects particularly for children and families, visiting the exhibition, was cultural performances by Indonesian children. During the exhibition many traditional dances were presented. Hadi Santoso, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, addressing a inaugural ceremony, he said that the two-day event would focus on promoting Indonesia tourism and will also display Indonesian products such as spices, textiles, confectionery and food products and consumers goods.

He said that five companies from Indonesia participates the event. Several products will be introduced namely agriculture related products, herbal medicine, and fast moving consumer goods. One company is Indonesian importer that interested with Pakistan’s leather product. Two importers from Karachi also joined the event to introduce confectionery and cosmetics product. Indonesia and Pakistan enjoy excellent political relations but stressed that these should also be reflected in other fields such and economy and tourism etc.

“This year delegations not only comprising of exporters delegation but also one importer that has interest with Pakistan leather product. This is my willingness to increase the bilateral trade. By including such exhibition into our activities, the businessmen will have better knowledge about the market. I do hope that such approach also being implemented by our Pakistani brother in Indonesia, this way, I believe the trade will develop equally”, add Hadi Santoso

Furthermore the Exhibition was highlighted the cultural shows, Indonesian Cultural Performances like Tanjung Katung and Poco-poco Dances, were performed by the Indonesian and Pakistani students. The visitors fully enjoyed the Indonesian traditional colourful performances that were excellently organized and every one completely enjoyed and took great interest. The exhibition productively concluded on Sunday, August 28, 2016 in very successful manner.

President KCCI to inaugurate Indonesia’s Product Solo Exhibition on 27 August

Karachi, August 26, 2016 (PPI-OT): President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Younus Muhammad Bashir will inaugurate the two-day Indonesia’s Product Solo Exhibition (IPSE) 2016 on Saturday, 27 August, 2016 at 5:30 pm in Ocean Mall, Clifton, Karachi.

“This is the evidence of my promise that I want to increase the interaction between Indonesian businessmen and Pakistan businessmen. Only through proactive approach, economy and trade opportunities can be opened”, said Hadi Santoso, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi.

Flag hoisting ceremony of 71st Independence Day of Republic of Indonesia

Karachi, August 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Flag Hoisting Ceremony of the 71st Indonesian Independence Day in the premise of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia went very well and attended by numerous Indonesians residing in Karachi. The ceremony was also attended by invitees of Pakistani friends of the local government, business people, academicians, journalist and the diplomatic corps.

The ceremony went through processions of flag hoisting by the official flag bearers, then declaring of the State Five Principles, declaring of the 17 August 1945 Independence Proclamation, stating the 1945 Preamble of the Indonesian Constitution and the Consul General official remarks.

On this occasion, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia recall the proclamation of the nation by our founding fathers and 1st President, Soekarno and Vice-President, Mohammad Hatta on 17th August 1945. Indonesia, since then, has become a free and independent nation realizing for better future out of a colonised nation.

On commemorating the 71st Independence Day, the Consul General urged Indonesians in Sindh Province to contribute in a more constructive way to fulfil the dreams and hopes of our fore fathers in making a great Indonesia.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, recently had established a National Movement “Reliable Work” (Indonesian: “Indonesia Kerja Nyata”). It is a major movement involving all elements of the Indonesian peoples to accomplish a just, prosperous, and peaceful Indonesia.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi and the Indonesian peoples in Sindh Province also participating in the above mentioned movement by enlarging its creativity in providing contribution on the Indonesia bilateral relations with Pakistan, especially in specific area of economy, trade and social links.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia appreciated and pleased for the attendance of the Pakistani’s guest on the flag-hoisting ceremony as a reflection of both country’s cordial and brotherly relations. On this opportunity, the Indonesian peoples extended their warmest and sincerest felicitation on the auspicious occasion of the 69th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 14th August 2016. We are confident that Indonesia and Pakistan bilateral relations will be further strengthened in days ahead.

Indonesian Consulate organizes voluntary blood donation camp for kids battling Thalassemia in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation

Karachi, August 12, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi held its annual voluntary blood donation camp event in collaboration with Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) on Friday, 12th August 2016 in the premises of the Consulate, Shahrah-e-Iran, Clifton, on the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

Speaking at the opening of the camp, Hadi Santoso, Consul General of Indonesia said, “I would like to thank all of the donors for their generosity. Donating blood is a healthy and sensible practice. With many people participating in blood donation we can help secure a sustainable pipeline of blood for children and save the lives of those in need: this is how a company network can ‘create chemistry’ to support an important societal initiative.”

The blood donated would be used for transfusion for children suffering from Thalassemia in Karachi. The Consul General took the opportunity to convey warm greetings to the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who also celebrated their Independence Day on the 14th August, 2016. He extends heartiest felicitations and best wishes to the Government and the people of Pakistan on the independence.
