Attock Refinery Limited’s board meeting

Karachi, October 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): This is to inform you that the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company will be held on Wednesday, 17th October, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. (venue of the Meeting shall be communicated shortly) to consider and approve the financial statements for the first quarter ended September 30, 2012.

The Company has declared the “Closed Period” from October 10, 2012 to October 18, 2012 both days inclusive) as required under clause (xxiii) of the Code of Corporate Governance contained in the Listing Regulation No. 35 of the Stock Exchanges. Accordingly, no Director, CEO or Executive shall, directly/indirectly, deal in the shares of the Company in any manner during the Closed Period.

1st Plant Maintenance and Operation Conference -2012

Karachi: The 1st Plant Maintenance and Operation Conference -2012 was organized by Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) on April 18, 2012 at Morgah Club, Rawalpindi. Imminent speakers and participants from widely diverse fields attended this prestigious event.

The Conference aimed to provide an opportunity and forum to multidimensional stakeholders both in public and private sectors to share their challenges and endeavours in the field of Plant Maintenance, Operations, Project, Inspection and Planning focusing on Oil and Gas, Petrochemical Industry etc.

Mr. M. Adil Khattak, Chief Executive Officer ARL, in his opening address appreciated all the participants and highlighted the significance of Plant Maintenance and Operation in today’s business environment and importance of sharing best business practices.

He said that organizing such knowledge sharing events is in line with ARL’s core value of “Learning and Innovation”. Holding of the “1st Plant Maintenance and Operation Conference 2012” is in continuation of series of various conferences already held at ARL in the field of Health Safety and Environment and Human Resource during the last four years.

He said that Plant Maintenance and Operations in any process industry is a complex and demanding function and absence of proper procedures, follow-up and preventive measures can lead to serious risks and consequences. Mr. Khattak said that this conference will contribute to gain valuable knowledge, better working relationship, identification of local resource availability, gap identification, benchmarking with best Maintenance and Operations practices and gaining updates on the latest Plant Management Solutions.

He urged the participants of the conference to make the most of this opportunity by engaging in open dialogue, real and lasting cross-sector networking, and willingness to share and learn by participating in this knowledge sharing event.
