Lahore University of Management Sciences Team Wins Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Plan Competition
Lahore: The LUMS team secured the first position at the Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Business Plan Competition organised by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in collaboration with the Government of Punjab.
The students representing LUMS were members of the Managerial Society at LUMS, Abdul Rehman Nazar, Abdul Basit Shakir, Rai Zaeem Khan and Shahrukh Tauqir, who delivered a comprehensive business plan “Nutritif Farms” on organic farming of fruits and vegetables and won the competition.
The competition was held at the Chief Minister House and included participants from universities and colleges from all over Lahore. The second and third prizes of the competition went to Lahore College for Women University for their business plan on Dehydrated Egg Powder and the University of Management and Technology for their business plan on Mosquito Repellent, respectively.
MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest on the occasion which was organised as a part of the Lahore Shopping Festival 2012. LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher, Vice President Saeeda Nazar, Sheikh Mohammad Arshad, LCCI Executive Committee Member Nasir Saeed and MNA Pervaiz Malik were among the speakers at the event.
Addressing the participants, the speakers stressed that education was the only answer to the multiple internal and external problems being faced by the country and urged the students to focus on their studies as the country was in dire need of innovative entrepreneurs and managers.
