NATION CANNOT BE SERVED WITH HOLLOW SLOGANS: CM PUNJAB

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says the nation cannot be served with hollow slogans.

He was talking to the elected representatives of PML-N in Lahore on Friday.

He said that past four years of the PML-N Government are based on public service and we will continue the service of the people in future.

The chief minister said that some politicians are trying to derail the journey of the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan is progressing rapidly and the government ensured transparency in development projects.

TERRORIST FACILITATORS ARRESTED IN DG KHAN OPERATION: ISPR

Security Forces carried out an operation in Dera Ghazi Khan area and apprehended two groups of terrorist facilitators.

According to the ISPR, the operation was carried out on a tip off and a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the two groups.

SHAHBAZ DIRECTS CABINET COMMITTEE TO TAKE MEASURES TO PROTECT LIVES & PROPERTIES OF PEOPLE

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the Cabinet Committee for Law and Order to take all possible steps to protect lives and properties of people.

In a statement on Friday, he directed the police and other concerned officials to perform their duty with efficiency. The entry and exit points of the province will be vigilantly monitored.

He directed that special attention should be paid for the security of mosques and other religious places. He also directed to speed up the combing and search operation in the province.

RIVER INDUS IN LOW FLOOD LEVEL

According to Flood Control Room at Jinnah Barrage Mianwali, river Indus is at low flood level and downstream water discharge on Friday morning was 261,056 cusecs.

Similarly, upstream water at Chashma Barrage on Friday morning was 252,702 cusecs.

MET OFFICE PREDICTS RAIN-THUNDERSTORM IN PARTS OF COUNTRY

Rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Sindh, Islamabad, eastern Balochistan, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan divisions, Kashmir, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next twelve hours.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Friday morning:

Islamabad twenty five degree centigrade, Lahore twenty seven, Karachi twenty nine, Peshawar twenty eight, Quetta twenty one, Gilgit nineteen, Murree seventeen and Muzaffarabad twenty three degree centigrade.

According to the synoptic situation, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating upper/central parts of the country and likely to continue during next 24 hours. A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country. Monsoon currents will start penetrating in Sindh from Saturday.
